April Lewis (http://www.aprildaniellelewis.com) stopped by this week to print the text portion of her “Invasive Flora of Baltimore” book edition. The images were screen printed with James Martin (http://ghoomprint.blogspot.com). April worked with shop tech, Michael Moore (http://www.michaeltmoore.com) to set type and print on the Vandercook Universal I press.

April’s books will be a part of her performance piece in the Transmodern Festival, in February 2010.

Mo Liebowitz, an established graphic designer and letterpress expert, was the guest artist at a workshop with Towson University and Stevenson University last week, between February 25th-26th, which included a lecture by Mo at Stevenson University. Mo and his wife Loretta played bluegrass music on the mandolin and autoharp! About 28 students from both universities had the opportunity to print using the Vandercook and Kelsey presses. They set lead type and processed photopolymer plates.
